The Lane Cove Local Government Area (LGA) is situated in Sydney’s northern suburbs, approximately eight kilometres from the Sydney CBD. Crossley Transport Planning (CrossleyTP) has been engaged by Lane Cove Council to develop the 2024–2025 Pedestrian Access and Mobility Plan (PAMP). The purpose of the updated PAMP is to create a pedestrian network that is functional, safe, and accessible while enhancing the quality of life for all residents. CrossleyTP applies contemporary best practices to design an inviting pedestrian environment that encourages walking as part of daily life. The plan ensures alignment with current policies, addresses community needs, and supports Lane Cove Council’s strategic objectives.

As part of this project, CrossleyTP undertook a range of activities, including conducting a community survey, performing site investigations, reviewing local and regional planning strategies, collecting and analysing data, developing a walking route network, and preparing an actionable implementation plan. These steps collectively aim to deliver a comprehensive and evidence-based strategy that improves pedestrian connectivity and safety across the Lane Cove LGA.
